One Day FREE Fantasy Contest - $150 in Cash Prizes
Remember when we partnered with DraftStreet.com last season and gave you the opportunity to win a bunch of money? In case you missed out, we're at it again.
If you aren't a fan of season-long fantasy baseball, where you have to set your lineup at least once a week if not every single day, boy are you in for a treat. DraftStreet.com has fast and easy one night leagues where you can win cash every day that you play: you draft a team for one night and get paid out as soon as the games end that night. DraftStreet.com is at the forefront of this new trend in the fantasy world and is giving us a great promotion: a FREE one-day fantasy league with $150 in prizes exclusively for Babes Love Baseball fans for this Friday, April 27, 2012.

Let's Get Denarded In Here
Check out Sooze wearing that sweet Let's Get Denarded t-shirt by the fabulous t-shirt makers DiamondCentric Apparel. There's even a no. 2 on the back.
This could quite possibly be the best way to celebrate the badassery of Minnesota Twins center fielder Denard Span.
We know you want one.
All you have to do is leave a comment about what you would do while wearing this shirt, and we'll pick the most creative one tomorrow night. Go.

Share Your Fenway Memory, Win a Remembering Fenway Park Book
Would you like to read this amazing book, Remembering Fenway Park, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the oldest ballpark in the country? We want to give it to you as a gift.
All you have to do is share a picture with us of yourself at Fenway. You can be with your buddies, your weird family, or all by yourself... you don't even have to be a Red Sox fan. There are three ways to do this...
1) Tweet your photo to @babeslovebball
2) Share it on our Facebook wall
3) Email us at babeslovebaseball@gmail.com
Then we will pick one of you at random this evening and announce it via Facebook and Twitter. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces and ugly mugs!
Remembering Fenway Park by Harvey Frommer (foreward by Johnny Pesky) beautifully documents the stadium’s entire career through a decade-by-decade account, a priceless collection of historical photographs, and vivid, first-person reminiscences of the people to whom this great place has meant so much: journalists, players, and fans.

Write a Baseball Haiku, Win a Coffee Table Book
Every now and then we like to hold contests so our dear readers can win sweet stuff on the internet. This time, we'd like to share a copy of Andy Strasberg's Baseball Fantography : A Celebration in Snapshots and Stories from the Fans.
This book kicks ass. It would look great on your coffee table, but if you don't have one of those you could always set it next to the toilet. Wherever it is, people will want to open it. When they do, they'll fall in love with it.
Considering we're in the middle of our Season Previews -- which we lazily do in haiku form in case you're new around here -- we thought it appropriate to make this a baseball haiku contest.
The rules are simple. Choose from one of these three options:
Leave your haiku as a comment to this post
Share your haiku on our Facebook wall
Send us your haiku via Twitter to @babeslovebball
Obviously, the topic must be baseball-related. We'll pick the one we like best this Friday (March 23, 2012) and the author will get this awesome book in the mail shortly thereafter. Don't be shy. Good luck and happy haiku-ing everyone!

What's Your Free $100 Fantasy [Baseball]
It's not too late to sign up for our FREE $100 Freeroll Fantasy Baseball game on Draft Street this evening for a chance to win some cold hard cash... and bragging rights, of course. There is no commitment necessary, so it's perfect for all you men out there. Plus, it's free.

Play FREE $100 Fantasy Baseball with us on Draft Street!
Babes Love Baseball has teamed up with DraftStreet.com to offer an exclusive freeroll fantasy baseball contest to our readers this Friday, August 12, 2011.
First and foremost, it's FREE to sign up, and FREE to play. You have absolutely nothing to lose! Here's how it works: you play fantasy baseball for one day -- rather than six long months -- and have a chance to win some cold hard cash from the $100 prize pool.
Draft Street gives you a $100,000 budget to work with, so you can put together a pretty sweet team, but some players cost more than others based on their fantasy production. Say, for example, you'd like to draft Roy Halladay. He's pretty awesome, so you'll have to fork over $16,000 for him. We know you're smart enough to figure this out.
Follow this link to sign up. We'll be playing too... and you don't want to get beat by a couple of girls.

Top Ten Most Sticky Situations in MLB History
Mitchum is running a "Love Thy Pits" campaign for their new Advanced Control stick/solid antiperspirant and deodorant, which will help you keep your cool during any hot mess you find yourself in, with 48 hours of protection for both men and women. Hey, if you smell good, you feel good, right?
In fact, it would be pretty embarrassing to find your deodorant isn't working properly: hence the "sticky situation" title. This got us to thinking about the ten most embarrassing moments in the history of baseball. One thing just sort of leads to another with us... there's no real train of thought most of the time.
After enjoying this top ten list, we invite you to share your most embarrassing moment in the comments section. The commenter with the most humiliating, hilarious, and humbling sticky situation will be awarded two tickets to an MLB game of their choice, courtesy of Mitchum. The winner will be announced via Facebook this Friday, August 5, 2011, so be sure to like BLB's page.

Jim Jam Mashes His First Tater of 2011
Jim Thome went yard Sunday afternoon during his team's 5-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics, crushing a two-run shot in the eighth inning off Jerry Blevins that cleared the 36-foot high batter's eye in straightaway center of Target Field.
The Minnesota Twins designated hitter has made a winner out of Rachel Erickson, who was randomly chosen from last Wednesday's online contest. Rachel, a fellow babe who loves baseball, will receive this sweet Mashin' Taters t-shirt courtesy of DiamondCentric Apparel.
Anyway, keep an eye on Jim Jam. Only ten more bombs until he joins the elite 600 Club!
[DiamondCentric]
Speaking of the Twins, check out Sooze and Marea's interview with Joe and Teresa Mauer. We love him a bazillion times more now that we've touched him.

Enter Our Ballpark Photo Contest!
Would you like to win a gift card to MLB.com? Of course you would.
We've run this contest before, and it was such a success and so damn much fun, we're doing it again. All you have to do to become eligible is send us a picture of yourself at the ballpark.
The rules are pretty simple: send one picture of you at a ballpark. You can be alone, with your buddies, your mama, or however you roll at the game. Please include your name and where the photo was taken. For the record, don't pull a Grady Sizemore on us. Unless you're hot. Actually no. Either way, you must be at a baseball stadium.
Anyway, Marea and I will then choose a few of our favorite photos before submitting them in poll-form to our wonderful readers, who will vote for their favorite.
The lucky winner gets the gift card worth $100 and the three runners up will receive a sexy and official BLB t-shirt, like this one modeled by the studly Mike. Thanks buddy!
Send your submissions to BLB by Friday, January 21 at 11:59pm ET. We will work tirelessly that entire weekend (when we're not bombed and watching football) to have a poll ready for you by the beginning of the week.
The winner will be announced after the polls close on Friday, January 28.
We can't wait! Ready...go.
*Obviously, by sending us a picture of yourself, you agree to have said photo displayed on the internet for all to see. We'll also be adding each one we receive to an album on our Facebook page. It'll be like scrap-booking, except awesome.

Derby Contest Winner!
This post is by Andrew: die-hard Brewers fan and one of my favorite commenters of all time. He won our Home Run Derby Challenge contest, and since he's a writer, we gave him a post.
It can be fun when you get in a groove. It can be awesome when you get a ball in the parking lot that can clear everything. It can also start fights if you see so many Happy Youngsters going after what's rightfully yours.
But only one night a year, Batting Practice takes it to the next level. ESPN takes control, and the mellifluous tones of Chris Berman and the general savvy of Joe Morgan take us to another place. State Farm gives us the Home Run Derby, and it allowed my giant Irish head to look as smart as it's been in a while!
For you see, I called it. Before the names were announced. Yeah, me. Give me a second.
Hear that sound? That's me patting myself on the back.

The National League contestants for this year's Home Run Derby have been announced! Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, Albert Pujols and Adrian Gonzalez -- all four monster first basemen from the senior circuit -- will vy for the All-Star Longball Crown next Monday night on ESPN.
Now! Head over to our Home Run Derby Challenge post (where we're giving away a BLB ballcap, possibly some other goodies, and entering the winner of our choice in a chance to win two World Series tickets) and comment on which of these four sluggers you think will hit the most bombs.

Another Change in All-Star Rosters
This news doesn't affect you as an All-Star voter... I'll get to the part that concerns you in just a minute. The big dogs at the Commissioner's Office have decided to add one more pitcher from each league, by manager's choice, bringing the total of each All-Star roster to 33 players -- 13 hurlers -- for the July 14th game in St. Louis. Here's where you guys come in.
We're holding a Home Run Derby Challenge, in which our readers guess who will hit the most bombs and why (the why is the most important part) at this year's contest, even though we have no idea who will participate yet. The beauty of this, is that you can show off your psychic powers now, or guess later on once the players are announced.

My team, Freebase My Balls, finished dead last in all three leagues.
Drumroll...

BLB AAA Affiliate: Wonder Slugs
BLB AA Affiliate: The Blue Workhorse
I've already emailed all three winners, but only one has contacted me. If you are one of the other two, email me here with your address and I'll ship out your prize.
Congratulations bitches. See you Monday!
