The outfielder was traded Wednesday night for the second time this week, leaving Oaktown to join the Washington Nationals in a swap for outfielder Chris Snelling.
After the Atlanta Braves dumped Langerhans on the A's Sunday, he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and a walk against the Boston Red Sox in just two games. He started both in center field, comically misplaying a liner for an error that led to a run in the Red Sox 6-4 win on Wednesday.
Langerhans went 3-for-44 with the Braves, snapping an 0-for-29 slump on Sunday.
The left-handed hitting Snelling was batting .204 in 24 games with Washington, starting in the outfield 10 times. At 25 years old, he has played parts of 3 big league seasons with the Seattle Mariners, hitting a career .229 with 6 homers and 19 RBI.
