Now that the season is under way, it's time for one of our favorite things in all the world: Season Previews. Two years ago, they began as a serious analysis and ended up as half-assed haiku. We're just gonna go with what we know. To begin our preview of the American League East, here is our look at the 2009 New York Yankees.

Season Previews: Oakland Athletics

Season Previews: St. Louis Cardinals

Now that it's Spring, it's time for one of our favorite things in all the world: Season Previews. Two years ago, they began as a serious analysis and ended up as half-assed haiku. We're just gonna go with what we know. Continuing on with out preview of the National League Central, here we go: the St. Louis Cardinals.

Strong starters are back
Chris Carpenter and Wainwright
Need to stay healthy

And Then There Were Four

The Tampa Bay Rays need to update their math. They began the season with 9=8, Manager Joe Maddon's philosophy that nine players playing consistently good baseball for nine innings every game will get them to be one of the eight teams in the playoffs. Well it worked. So well in fact that with yesterday's defeat of the Chicago White Sox, the Rays have moved on to the ALCS. So for now 9=4.

And who will the Rays be playing in the ALCS? The Red Sox. Yes, the Red Sox beat the Angels in Game 4 with a walk off hit by Jed Lowrie. Jason Bay scored the winning run, which was probably the highlight of his career. He should really thank Manny for being Manny.

Sorry I'm late to the post season party, but I am very happy to be here. My name is Das and I'm a Yankees fan. I thought it would be harder to follow the post season since I was in high school the last time they weren't in the playoffs, but October hasn't gone so well for them in a long time and especially since... well I think we all know. I'm backing the Cubs this October because I want to hear about someone else's curse being over.

A little recap of yesterday's games...

Phillies beat Brewers 3-1: Cole Hamels pitched 8 scoreless innings.

Dodgers defeat Cubs 7-2: James Loney hit a go ahead grand slam off of Ryan Dempster in the 5th.

Red Sox over Angels 4-1: Jason Bay's 2 run HR in 6th put the Red Sox ahead. Jon Lester pitched 7 innings.

Looks like being on the road didn't hurt.
