Reunited and It Feels So... Um... Yeah.

Someone wants Bobby Kielty to play baseball for them after all.

The Minnesota Twins signed the freakishly pumped up outfielder to a minor league contract, assigning him directly to the AAA Rochester Red Wings.

Bobby Kielty Wants to be My Friend

I forgot I even had a Myspace.

That's right. Bobby Kielty sent me a Myspace friend request, and I promptly became his 101st pal. You can find his page, which I did not read, here. My attention span is like nil when it comes to body builders and their drug-pushing.

Also, I think Kielty, who has now played exactly 20 games with the Boston Red Sox, has blocked all of his painful memories from his time with the Oakland Athletics. You'll see what I mean when you visit his page, which you should do.

Seriously, believe it when I tell you that the pictures alone are worth a thousand words... of hilarity. However, I am a little disappointed that he hasn't moved me to his top friends yet.

Apparently, all of Twins Nation was spammed alerted, as well.

Boston Looking for a Little Luck of the Irish

Bobby Kielty, a Bostonian since mid-August, was chosen to start for the Red Sox over regular right-fielder J.D. Drew during Friday night's Championship Series opener, due to his rabid success against Cleveland Indians starter C.C. Sabathia.

The switch-hitting Kielty is a career 9-for-29 with two bombs and four strikeouts against the Tribe's ace lefty, while Drew has struck out all three times he has faced Captain Cheeseburger.

Drew went 2-for-11 with three RBIs in the division series against the Los Angeles Angels while Kielty didn't play at all during the sweep.

After signing a hefty $70 million, five-year contract as a free agent before the season, Drew hit .270 with just 11 longballs and 64 RBIs before bouncing back late in the season.

Kielty, on the other hand, hit .231 with 1 homer and 9 RBIs in 52 at bats for the Sox this season.

Bobby Kielty's Knees, Mark Kotsay's Back

Sometime yesterday Babes Love Baseball got its 10,000th hit. We think it's because we waited until now to post this pic of Oakland Athletics outfielder Bobby Kielty, who underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.

The injury happened Sunday while he was running the bases during a rundown drill, not realizing the severity of it at the time and practiced Monday before feeling some pain.

The A's are hoping he will be fully healed by Opening Day, but on the grounds of Kielty being a slow healer, I wouldn't put money on him returning before the second week of the season.

In other A's injury news, center fielder Mark Kotsay has been out since Monday with the same lower-back spasms that have cost him playing time over the past two seasons. He didn't hear anything new on Thursday when given the results of his MRI exam, so he flew to Los Angeles early Friday in search of a second opinion.

This is the earliest in the season Kotsay has ever been hit by problems. He missed 25 of the A's final 51 games last season because of back pain, and says that this episode is the worst since coming to Oakland before the 2004 season.
