Good news on the MLB announcing front today: after 21 years, Jon Miller and Joe Morgan will no longer be tag-teaming Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.
The World Wide Leader's executive vice president had this to say in a prepared statement of total nonsense:
Over the last two decades, Joe went from Hall of Fame player to one of his sport’s top analysts and Jon’s Hall of Fame voice and tremendous knowledge of the game have connected with baseball fans everywhere. We owe them our deepest thanks for an outstanding body of work.BLB, on the other hand, will be celebrating their absence. While Miller will continue to be the San Francisco Giants radio man, I'm sure Morgan will find a home on Baseball Tonight or over at MLBNetwork.
We are entering a new era of sports-viewing. With all the live blogs, Twitter and online-streaming video, combined with the high cost of cable television, many fans are choosing to get their baseball fix places other than their idiot box. I'm not one of those folks.
As much as I love the internet, I need to watch baseball on TV. High definition if possible. I've been spoiled by the ability to pause and rewind the game and fast-forward through commercials. I will sit through the awful commentary.
So we'll go ahead and welcome Miller and Morgan's replacements, Dan Schulman and Orel Hershiser. Hey, anyone is better than Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.

You scared me for a second. I thought they were going to be replaced with Buck and McGarver and at that point I was just going to have to break my tv. Thank goodness I don't have to do that.
