Jay Bruce Swings the Reds into October

The year is 1995, and it was the last time the Cincinnati Reds won the National League Central division title. In fact, it was the last time they made it past the regular season at all.

We're talking the days of Bret Boone, Ron Gant, Barry Larkin, Jeff Brantley, Reggie Sanders, and yes, even Prime Time.

With one huge swing of the bat, Jay Bruce made the 88-69 Reds' first postseason appearance in 15 years a reality. Fireworks lit up Great American Ball Park, which has never seen the postseason, after the dramatic 3-2 walkoff victory over the Houston Astros. A clubhouse full of chilled Korbel bubbly awaited them.

One Reds player had never even had a sip of alcohol in his life: second baseman Brandon Phillips. And if any of those fellas deserve a nice buzz, it's that guy. He said:
