Steadily climbing the list of People I'd Like to Do is a young buck by the name of Jay Bruce. Maybe you've heard of his awesomeness.Bruce Almighty managed to overshadow Ken Griffey Jr.'s 599th career home run with a 10th inning walkoff to lift the Cincinnati Reds over the Atlanta Braves with an 8-7 victory. Hopefully none of you fools at the Great American left early!
Talk about stealing the thunder. Griffey was on deck, hoping to hit #600, when the 21-year-old rookie outfielder, who was called up on Tuesday, smashed his first big league bomb off Manny Acosta on a 2-1 pitch deep into the right field seats.
The Reds’ top prospect is an astounding 11-for-19 over his first five major league games, including a four-hit night and a couple of three-hit games.
Griffey, who kicked things off with a two-run homer in the first off Jair Jurrjens, is just one mighty swing away from joining Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds, and Sammy Sosa in the elite big bat club.

Just to keep things clear, I know that you don't want to "do" him based on his looks alone. I mean, he's kinda fugly. It's totally his hot bat, isn't it? ...isn't it?
Jay Bruce could probably beat up Kimbo Slice....but he would probably need to use a baseball bat.
Jay Bruce could probably teach Chuck Norris a thing or two about hi-yas.

As a Pirates fan, I have to say, this Jay Bruce hype is annoying (even if deserved).
I mean, there was the Freddy Sanchez error during his first series in the majors, and the Reds broadcasters were pretty much "Freddy Sanchez with the error. Jay Bruce. Jay Bruce Jay Bruce Jay Bruce Jay Bruce. Jay Bruce."
Or maybe I'm just jealous at the fact that the Reds are calling up their good players while the Pirates are still attempting to get a first round pitcher up to the majors without blowing his arm out in his first year.
And another one with the sweep! How anyone could be anti-Bruce, I have no idea.
