Matt Holliday singled home his team-leading 96th RBI for the go-ahead run in the 14th inning as the Colorado Rockies beat Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-4 Saturday night in a grueling, 5-hour and 6-minute game.
Cory Sullivan hit a two-run bomb and Brad Hawpe drove in two more for the Rockies' 17th and final hit. Matt Herges worked two scoreless innings for the win and Manny Corpas earned his 11th save in 13 opportunities.
Dodgers right-handed starter Chad Billingsley (7-4, 3.63 ERA) allowed three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out four.
After Sullivan's RBI single in the seventh gave Colorado a three-run lead, the Dodgers got one back in the bottom half on Shea Hillenbrand's base hit. He then drove in the tying run in the eighth with another RBI single after Matt Kemp scored on a double-play grounder by Olmedo Saenz.
Rookie starter Franklin Morales (0-0, 1.69 ERA) lasted 5.1 innings in his big league debut for Colorado, allowing a run and five hits while striking out four and walking none. The 21-year-old Venezuelan lefty also drove in a run with a single to center in his first at bat, leaving the game with a 3-1 lead.
Garrett Atkins had a tough night for the Rockies after causing reliever Jorge Julio two earned runs and making a costly base running error in the 10th when he got greedy and tried to sneak an extra base on Hawpe's bloop single and was thrown out by Rafael Furcal from short left field to end the inning.
The Rockies are now 4 games above .500 with a 63-59 record as they sit third in the standings, 7 games behind the NL West-leading Arizona Diamondbacks and 2 behind the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers are just a half game back from Colorado.

Holliday is the NL MVP for sure - especially with the Prince and the Brewers have been rollin.
