Now with audio, thanks to the Transplanted Philly Fan! Lots of F-bombs -- pure comedy gold.
After blowing the game against the San Diego Padres Saturday, Philadelphia Phillies closer Brett Myers got into it with a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter.
When the reporter questioned Myers (5.10 ERA) about the two homers he surrendered, the pitcher called them "just pop ups." ...which is kinda weird, because generally, pop-ups are easily caught and rarely result in un-sacrificial runs, as they don't leave the ballpark.
Then, Myers got personal. "You're not even a beat reporter. You're a fill-in, you don't know anything about baseball." He went on to call them retarded.

Brett must have missed the Phillies' Disability Awareness Night this year.
Myers' eyebrows were completely out of control throughout the entire interview and actually helped distract the reporter away from further questioning.

Hmmm. Not the best career move, Brett.
Yeah, not a good idea to call the people that write things about you retarded.
He's such a complete tool.
Did Myers get Just For Men for his eyebrows?
Home Run!
As I write this, the Phightin's are up 14-1 on San Diego. Plenty of room for pop-ups today, Brett.
Oh, and it's R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D.
i agree rain delay....he's basically a five-tool tool
He needs vicadin before every start.
I swear. Guy has some serious anger issues. Just ask his wife.
Like to see what it's like next time he works with a Phillies Charity that deals with handicapped children.
I guess this outburst is a positive compared to the fact that he beat his wife in the middle of the street.
I thought that word was spelled M-Y-E-R-S. What a twit.
Using the R word should be the real issue here. Unfortunetly, many people don't understand that this is just as offensive as using the N word.
Certain shock jocks use it like it's going out of style and so it has gained popularity with the general public, mainly desensitized teens. If he used the N word he would probably be put on probation, minimum.
Stop & think. This is a very hurtfull word. Time to grow up and realize that some people are dealt a bad hand to no fault of anyone. Misusing this word is one of the worse things you can say. Thanks for reading.
Thanks for your thoughts, anonymous. Are you against using the word "gay" to describe displeasure or boredom as well?

Well said! - It makes me very angry when people use the R word as an insult or to imply stupidity. Having a child who is developmentaly delayed has made me very sensitive to the issue - as everyone should be!
Yes. It is.
