Red Sox Release Romero

The Boston Red Sox released lefty reliever J.C. Romero today after he was designated for assignment on June 8th to make room on the roster for Mike Timlin.

Reactions from Minnesota Twins fans...

"Weird."

"J.C. Romero... Yes, I seem to recall him sucking at baseball."

"Released by Boston? I can't imagine why!"

Signed in the offseason to a one-year, $1.6 million deal with incentives, Romero is looking for a new home. Any takers?

Gotta love the "Weed Out The Crap" tag.

The Red Sox don't technically "need" a crappy reliever, so I see how this move makes sense.
