Prior to their game against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Texas Rangers placed right-hander Kevin Millwood on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 29th.
Millwood (2-3, 5.88 ERA) strained his left hamstring last Wednesday while running fly balls in the outfield. He missed a scheduled start the next day against the New York Yankees and has continued to feel discomfort.
Millwood will certainly miss at least one more start, but may return in time for a four-game home series next weekend against the Los Angeles Angels.
Related, the club called up right-handed reliever Wes Littleton from the AAA Oklahoma RedHawks to take the open roster spot. Righty Mike Wood is the most likely replacement for Millwood in the rotation and will probably make his start during their three-game set against the Yanks next Tuesday.
