In a battle between talented lefties, the Minnesota Twin will put ace Johan Santana on the hill against the Seattle Mariners and Jarrod Washburn at 6:35pm ET tonight in the series finale at Safeco Field. The Twins took the first two games with wins from Ramon Ortiz and Carlos Silva, having outscored their opponents 19-7 in their last three road wins, including the series finale against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on Sunday.
Johan is looking to rebound after going 24-straight home games without a loss (17-0) before the streak was snapped by a 4-2 loss to Tampa Bay on Friday. The reigning Cy Young award winner is 6-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 14 career games versus Seattle.
Washburn, still looking for his first victory of the season, is 5-3 with a 3.52 ERA in 11 career starts against the Twins; 4-1 with a 2.84 ERA in his last five starts against them.
