Pete Rose: The Exhibit II

We all saw this crap coming. The new Pete Rose exhibit at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum was sure to bring yet another plea for reinstatement from the outcast legend.

In fact, Rose said that his fans want him to be reinstated, "Everything should be for the fans. If they retired my number here, don't you think the fans would be elated," he asked reporters at the exhibit's private opening on Tuesday.

He says a person could put a hit on him and he would still be "out there trying to sell baseball."

In addition to the three-story wall filled with 4,256 baseballs to reflect the Hit King's career hits, the new exhibit showcases more that 300 artifacts celebrating Rose's career.

"I'm just happy having three stories of balls. That's a lot of balls."

...

Rose sees the allowance of this exhibit as somewhat of a softening of MLB's image of him, so he thanked them for giving him the permission to have it. Because of the ban, Rose is not eligible for induction into any Baseball Hall of Fame and is not allowed to be involved in the game of baseball, period.

Rose broke the one rule that you cannot break. He should never be reinstated, ever. Even after he's dead. I saw he was in Vegas last month signing stuff, I blogged about it. Sorry for the bluntness of the title.

You're right, though. He continues to (try to) manipulate fans into feeling sorry for him. There is no way in hell he will ever be reinstated. He brought shame to the sport and I'm surprised he has any exhibits at all. It's pathetic.

Pete Rose is a sad, sad man.

Hey Pete; this "fan" wants you to fade gracefully into retirement and give us enough time to forget just how sleazy you are. Then maybe we can reinstate you and not feel guilty about it.

Pete, don't go away mad, just go away.
