Bothered by a weak right shoulder, Travis Hafner has been abandoned by the Cleveland Indians.
The once-monster of a hitter was left down in the minors during September call-ups Tuesday after batting .318 with four RBIs over seven games during a rehab stint with the AAA Buffalo Bisons. He hit just .217 with four longballs and 22 RBIs in 46 games with the Indians this season, so that probably played a role as well.
Hafner could hang out with one of Cleveland’s other minor-league affiliates and continue his rehab assignment, but he's confident that he'll be playing with the Indians again before the season is up.
Maybe he could come back in time to hit four more bombs before he watches the playoffs at home.

Travis Hafner will return and take the Indians to the playoffs.
Just kidding.
Or maybe that he uses a bat forged out of granite, drags his wife around by the hair, and is scared of fire.
