Albert Pujols was carted off the field Tuesday during the seventh inning of the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds after injuring himself while running out a grounder.
After nailing his 16th homer of the season four innings earlier, the six-time All-Star and Cards' leading hitter was diagnosed with a strained left calf and flown back to St. Louis for more tests. Judging from the looks of Prince Albert writhing in pain on the ground, the immediate outcome does not look so good.
Update: Pujols is expected to miss 3 weeks with a strained left calf.

La Russa said there's no way Albert can avoid the DL, and to kind of emphasize that point, Chris Duncan has already been recalled from Memphis. With all of the kids up from AAA, I can hear the PA announcer now, "Ladies and gentlemen, you're Memphis, er, I mean; St. Louis Cardinals!"
I like the picture. I'm surprised he only strained his calf while giving birth.
I was just gonna say, he looks like he pooped alittle.
