During one of the best pitching matchups of the season so far, Arizona Diamondbacks righty Brandon Webb simply out-dueled San Diego Padres ace Jake Peavy Sunday.
In a battle between the two most recent NL Cy Young award winners, Webb improved to 6-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.98. He narrowly escaped two separate bases-loaded situations to become the first hurler to six wins in the majors.
Peavy, who gave up four hits over seven innings but struck out nine, lost at home for the first time in 10 starts, dating back to July 2007.Catcher Chris Snyder accounted for both Padres runs, hitting a two-run bomb behind Webb for the 2-1 victory. Arizona now holds the best record in baseball, sitting at 18-7, 6 games ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West. San Diego is dead last in the division at 10-16.

Babes dig the strikeout.
Hey Sooze...that pic you got up there is Brandon Lyon...not Webby...not sure what you were going for there :)
Yes it is! We have a not-so-inside-joke around here regarding The Brandons. You'd be surprised how much they look alike. As the story goes, I once mistook one Brandon for another during Spring Training, and Lyon's punchline was, "Oh, you want the other Brandon." For some reason, I think the ladies are always looking for 'the other Brandon'...
OH MY GOSH I knew you were going to have to tell that story again. I didn't even notice that was Lyon's pic! Okay, I was there. It was great. Relievers get no love from the ladies! But to Suzy's credit.. she was wasted.
I was not wasted! Buzzed, at best. It was really sunny outside.
