Instead of writing about how terrible the Chicago Cubs played during their playoff series against the Arizona Diamondbacks... 1908... Sweet Lou was supposed to take them all the way... $300 million spent... etc... how about we let the pictures do the talking.

The North Side is officially on suicide watch... those who survived 2003, anyway.
That is one sad dog.
Cruel and heartless! I love it.
I feared finding myself in one of those pictures- but I think I hightailed it out of the park after the game quick enough to avoid having my misery photographed on film.
From the ultimate high in Fenway one day, to the ultimate low in Wrigley the next.
Jeez, was Lou at the game or was he out in an alley with a bottle of Thunderbird?
Look at the bright side, you have Northwestern, U of Illinois and Bears football.
It's okay anonymous, my team didn't even make the playoffs.
I find this anti-fairy tale of the 2007 Cubs is almost identical to the anti-fairy tale of the 2006 Twins. Unwordly hot streak during the season, clinching division in the last few days. Total inability to hit way out of paper bag. Swept in first round. North-siders I feel your pain, but at least you have a moneyed franchise and a front office who is willing to spend that cash...though signing Ted Lilly for the amout of money that they did strikes me as poor money management.
The Cubs were the worst team in the playoffs. Why is everyone so shocked when they curled up and died?
Yeah, their overall record kinda sucked, but after all they've only had 20 seasons over .500 since WWII, so we still gotta have hope, right?
As a diehard, the double-edged sword of hope gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Not a local, per se, but a Cubs' fan all my life.
All I can say is: squeeze the scalpers for a cut of the profit off the hottest tix in b-ball; buy some pitching, an experienced bat or two, preferably with some play-off mentality (Alouuuuuuu! Or Lofton, or Pudge),pray the pitching stays (gulp) healthy, and ...is it next year already?
Kill the goat!
P.S. Say no to "booing." It's just not right.
from a transplant in Chicago...I love it! Chicago fans (all sports) are so full of themselves!!!
sweet baby jesus, anonymous. i've been a cubs fan since leon let the ball go between his legs in 84. there's no need to work it blue. a nice "bite me" will suffice.
and hey. after 99 years of this crap, aren't we all used to it by now?
say it with me, "Wait 'til next year!"
I see you couldn't resist the crying girl from 2003. Nice addition.
just a suggestion maybe lou should stop mentioning the yankees and cubs in the same sentence... that might help
