Seriously, who doesn't love a bench-clearing dust-up?
An inning and a half after Baltimore Orioles starter Daniel Cabrera, a rather large man, nailed slugger Gary Sheffield with a pitch, Detroit Tigers hurler Jeremy Bonderman retaliated by throwing at Miguel Tejada's feet, forcing him to jump to avoid being hit.
Tejada pointed his bat menacingly at Bonderman before catcher Ivan Rodriguez got between the two.
Oh, it's on now.
Both benches cleared in the 3-3 game with Tejada, third base coach Juan Samuel and Cabrera, along with the Tigers' Sheffield, Joel Zumaya and Pudge being the most vocal in the argument.
Moments later, Sheffield smoked Cabrera's 2-1 fastball 408 feet into the left-field stands. Shef slowly walked a third of the way down the first base line before trotting around the horn, with Cabrera staring him down the entire way. The two-run shot, just his second of the season, broke the tie and put O's fans everywhere in a foul mood.
Jay Gibbons homered in the sixth before the Tigers' big seventh where Sheffield scored on a wild pitch that moved Magglio Ordonez to third before Carlos Guillen got on base. Craig Monroe then grounded out to third for two more and Marcus Thames doubled in the final run.

Haha! I love how Pudge was like "Oh no you di-in't!" when Tejada pointed his bat at Bonderman.

Bench clearing "dust-ups" are awesome, but bench clearing "brawls" are even better.

Exactly, it was a dust-up, no harm, no foul -- though Sheffield made his statement known.
I'd take Cabrera over Shef any day. It'd be a first-round TKO.
There seem to be a lot more dust-ups then brawls these days. I hope Baseball isn't turning into Soccer in the pansie stakes.
