Everybody loves a good ass-whoopin', right? That's what the Texas Rangers got from Travis Buck and the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics Friday night.
Rangers starter Brandon McCarthy pitched just into the second inning, but managed to give up 6 runs and 2 walks worth of damage on 4 hits. Oakland got a two-run double from Bobby Crosby, an RBI double by Sexy Mark Ellis - before adding a two-run double in the eighth - and a run-scoring single from Shannon Stewart. McCarthy did strike out Mike Piazza once, however.
