The Los Angeles Dodgers waited three days for Fernando Tatis to report to their minor league camp before releasing him as a no-show.
The club reassigned the third baseman on Sunday in their first round of roster cuts after he hit just .158, going 3-for-19 in 10 games. Last season, Tatis hit .250 with two homers and eight RBIs in 28 games with the Baltimore Orioles.
There is a rather exciting stat lurking in the annals of baseball history, however. Tatis is the only player to ever hit two grand slams in the same inning, accomplishing the feat with the St. Louis Cardinals at Dodger Stadium on April 23, 1999 against Chan Ho Park.
So, that's pretty sweet. Everyone gets their 15 minutes, right?
