Can the Mariners Get their Crap Together?
We mentioned last week how much the Seattle Mariners were sucking at baseball, and after an entire weekend, that is still the case.
Generally, records and milestones are pretty awesome accomplishments. In the 43-58 Mariners' case, the record they set on Sunday is rather embarrassing. The club suffered a franchise-worst 15th straight loss upon a 12-8 rout by the Boston Red Sox that afternoon, etching this particular team's name into the Seattle Museum of Suckdom.

Eric Wedge Gets a Shot in Seattle
After a year away from baseball, which he probably needed after those terrible last couple of seasons with the Cleveland Indians, Eric Wedge is back in the game. The 42-year-old has filled Don Wakamatsu's shoes as the Seattle Mariners seventh manager since 2003. He has a tough job ahead too: attempting to rebuild a once-flourishing franchise who was actually supposed to be pretty good in 2010. Turns out, they sucked their way to 101 losses.
Wedge was the Indians' skipper for seven years until they canned him with just six games left in the 2009 season as the team fell to last place in the American League Central.

That Sucking Sound Was Eric Wedge
What a horrible few years the 64-92 Cleveland Indians have had.Eric Wedge will finish out what's left of the season, but will not be fulfilling the final year of his contract. And the rest of the coaching staff is going with him.
When a manager gets fired, this question often arises: Who's fault is it really? Well, they've lost 20 of their last 25 games and recently went on a torrid 11-game skid; and after seven seasons as the Tribe's skipper, Wedge guided them to only one playoff appearance.
Just sayin'.
