Indians' Chris Perez Gets Suspicious Marijuana-Filled Package in the Mail

This story made my day.

Apparently, a "suspicious package" that was shipped to Chris Perez's house on Monday has alarmed authorities.

City police and a regional narcotics unit, along with USPS postal inspectors, investigated said delivery to the Cleveland Indians closer's suburban home, according to Rocky River Police Chief Kelly Stillman. Some evidence was seized from the house during the bust on Tuesday, but there are currently no specifics on what items were taken. Like maybe a giant bong shaped like a unicorn. Or more weed.

Although no charges have been filed as of Wednesday night, "depending on what it was and how much it was, charges will be filed accordingly,'' said Stillman. Several attempts by the general media to contact Perez or his attorney have, of course, been unsuccessful. However, Indians manager Terry Francona spoke with him Wednesday morning and relayed that he seems to be in high spirits.

The right-hander is currently on the disabled list with an injured right shoulder anyway, so he won't have to worry about reporters in the clubhouse questioning him about the ordeal... until and unless he begins throwing again later this week as scheduled. And since he disabled his Twitter account after catching flack following a few crappy outings this season, he won't hear it there either. Wussy.

Seriously. Who mails weed?
