Will Tim Lincecum and the Giants Make the Playoffs?
Tim Lincecum and his San Francisco Giants are having a tough time these days.
Trailing the Arizona Diamondbacks by five games in the National League West all of a sudden, the Giants were shut out by the Chicago Cubs on Monday by a score of 7-0. They're going to need a ridiculous September in order to avoid missing the postseason this year with just 27 games left to play.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner, who allowed three home runs in a single game for the first time ever in his career, had this to say about his team's recent play:
"At this time last year we were in a similar spot but we were gaining ground, not going backward. Right now it’s obviously frustrating for everybody. It’s one of those situations where it’s hard to keep your head up when things aren’t really going our way."
Of course, at this time last year they were more like three games back before going on an incredible 18-8 run to polish off the season. Oh well. If the reigning champs have to skip the playoffs this season, Big Time Timmy Jim can always visit his nearest online Canadian pharmacy.
But seriously, what are the chances they'll make another comeback like last season? Will the D'Backs cool down?

I think they're capable but it's not going to happen.
