Get Well Soon Delmon Young

Just when the Minnesota Twins thought they were getting back on track and had shaken that nasty injury bug, another one bites the dust.

Delmon Young was carted off the field at Miller Park Saturday evening after clobbering the outfield fence in the fifth inning and spraining his ankle. X-rays taken at the ballpark came back negative, but he's expected to have an MRI when the Twins return to Minnesota on Monday.

Young's spike got snagged on the bottom of the wall, forcing all 240+ pounds of him down onto his his right ankle. Feel free to check out the video here, but be warned that it is nasty.

Following their 11-1 loss to the Brewers, the Twins promptly placed their left fielder on the 15-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Rene Tosoni to take his place on the roster.

Also, the play resulted in a Yuniesky Betancourt inside-the-park home run, which makes the whole thing that much more embarrassing. Get well soon, Delmon!

This isn't that bad of news for the Twins, Delmon is completely replaceable. Not the player he was last year and probably never will be again.
