Season Previews: Oakland Athletics

With Opening Day just around the corner, it's time for one of our favorite things in all the world: Season Previews. Four years ago, they began as a semi-serious analysis and ended up as half-assed haiku. We're just gonna go with what we know. Moving right along with our preview of the American League West, here are the Oakland Athletics.

Brad Pitt is playing
Billy Beane in Moneyball
We see the likeness

Kurt Suzuki vrooom
Landon Powell backs him up
Occasionally

Kouzmanoff at third
Conor Jackson's pretty hot
He'll back up Barton

David DeJesus
And Ryan Sweeney share right
Willingham in left

Trevor Cahill gets
The ball on Opening Day
Not Dallas Braden

Get off of my mound!
He and A-Rod aren't buddies
Who cares, perfect game!

Rich Harden is back
He's a bit injury prone
Didn't make the cut

Gio Gonzalez
Anderson and McCarthy
Fill the rotation

Blevins, Wuertz, Breslow
Balfour, Fuentes and Ziegler
Make up the bullpen

Speaking of pitching
Andrew Bailey is badass
And adorable

Ellis at second
Oops we forgot to mention
Pennington at short

The Athletics played
.500 baseball last year
Can they beat Texas?

Awesome preview ladies. Though I'm a Dodgers fan, my wife is an A's fan so we get to a lot of games. I think they're going to have a great season!

Or not so much. But come on, what dude wouldn't want Brad Pitt to play them in their movie?!
