With Opening Day just a day away, we're finishing up with one of our favorite things in all the world: Season Previews. Four years ago, they began as a semi-serious analysis and ended up as half-assed haiku. We're just gonna go with what we know. Starting our preview of the American League East, here are the New York Yankees.
Pettitte retired,
Cliff Lee turned them down. At least
They still have CC
Jeter
Posada says he would play
Somewhere else next year.
Tex and A-Rod in
The corners, Cano rocking
Second. Badasses.
Swisher hangs in right,
Granderson patrols center
Gardner lurks in left.
Mo's still one of the
Most feared closers in the game.
Joba
Their huge ass payroll
Might not buy the East this year.
Don't count them out, though.

While the Central has been the closest divisional race the past few years, I think the East is going to be much more interesting, especially with the upcoming talent the Baltimore Orioles have acquired.
Gardner does seem like a lurker, huh.
