Season Previews: Baltimore Orioles
With Opening Day just hours away, we're finishing up with one of our favorite things in all the world: Season Previews. Four years ago, they began as a semi-serious analysis and ended up as half-assed haiku. We're just gonna go with what we know. Continuing our preview of the American League East, here are the Baltimore Orioles.
Welcome Derrek Lee
We just knew you'd find a home
For at least a year
Speaking of new guys
Welcome to Vlad Guerrero
He still has a bat
Bet the ladies will
Enjoy the dreamy blue eyes
Of J.J. Hardy
Adam Jones sure looks
Dapper in the Five Four spread
What a stud muffin
Markakis and Scott
Might not be super models
But they're outfielders
Roberts at second
Up the middle with Hardy
Mark Reynolds at third
We love Matt Wieters
Our third-favorite catcher
Jake Fox backs him up
Alfredo Simon
Had a crappy offseason
Kinda shot a guy
Guthrie gets the ball
Against the Tampa Bay Rays
On Opening Day
Matusz, Tillman, and
Arrieta in order
With Brad Bergesen
Kevin Gregg closes
Gonzalez is a lefty
He's the only one
In 2010
The O's finished dead last with
96 losses
We are predicting
A .500 record and
A better season

Thank you for predicting a better season. It can't get much worse than last year.
Agreed. It can't be much worse than last year. I'll be surprised if they make .500 but it would certainly be nice!
Vlad doing a Godfather impersonation there? Glad to see he found a team after the season he had in Texas last year. He's definitely still got it!
