Good morning good folks of Arlington and surrounding area who are not Astros fans! We're sure you slept well and dreamed of World Series parades after your long evening of celebration.
Not only are the reigning champion New York Yankees headed home, but your Texas Rangers are going to the Big Show after a 6-1, Game 6 clincher Friday night.
Yeah, they've never been there. It's their first time. They're new at this.
They are Fall Classic virgins.
Rangers Ballpark was christened with ginger ale (in respect of their recovering addict MVP) last night as their very first pennant flag was raised above the field, surrounded by over 51,400 insanely-ecstatic Texans. Like team president Nolan Ryan for example:

This team coming out of spring training was on a mission.Colby Lewis pitched his little heart out, earning his second win of the series after eight solid innings of three-hit baseball. He was mistakenly accused of a wild pitch in the top of the fifth, which actually hit the dirt and ricocheted off Nick Swisher's shin before heading straight to the backstop. This allowed A-Rod to score and tie the game, angering honest, baseball-loving Americans everywhere.
Josh Hamilton was intentionally walked all three at bats after his single in the first, which did nothing but give designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero the opportunity to drive in the first three Texas runs. His two-run double in the fifth off starter Phil Hughes snapped a 1-1 tie before Nelson Cruz -- riding an 11-game hitting streak with a sore hammy and all -- went yard off reliever David Robertson to give the Rangers a four-run lead. Ian Kinsler, who flashed some pretty fancy leather as well, drove Michael Young in on a sacrifice fly in the seventh to give Texas some cushion and pretty much seal the deal.
I should mention, Elvis Andrus also has an 11-game postseason hitting streak going, and that impresses us greatly. We're also delighted by the efforts of Hamilton, who batted .350 with four bombs and seven RBI to earn the ALCS MVP honor.
Some say the party began when former Rangers shortstop Alex Rodriguez stood dazed at the plate after a Neftali Feliz slider came in for a called third strike to end the game and shatter the Bronx Bombers' World Series hopes. Could there have been a more appropriate final out? I think not.
Others say it began with Game 2, the first of a three-game ALCS winning streak for the Rangers in which they outscored the 27-time World Champs by an incredible 25-5.
Whatever the case, they're headed to either San Francisco or Philadelphia for Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday, with the first Texas home game scheduled for next Saturday.

Holding on to a 3-2 series lead, the Giants will send Jonathan Sanchez to the hill at Citizen's Bank Park to face Roy Oswalt in Game 6 this evening at 7:30pm ET on FOX. Enjoy!

I can guarantee everyone not a New York fan was rooting for the Rangers last night. What a game!
