Happy Trails, Dontrelle Willis
Arizona Diamondbacks interim general manager Jerry DiPoto's first order of business? Get Dontrelle Willis the hell out of Arizona.
After continuing to experience the same old pesky control problems, Willis has been designated for assignment. Yeah, he lasted all of 33 days in the desert.
Acquired on June 1 from the Detroit Tigers for right-hander Billy Buckner, Willis pitched only six games for the Diamondbacks, going 1-1 with a 6.85 ERA. In just over 22 innings, the struggling lefty struck out 13 batters while walking 27.
The team thought perhaps a move to the bullpen would help sort things out, but Willis' lone "relief" appearance was Saturday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers, in which he surrendered three runs on three hits in one unfortunate inning.
"He was a good soldier here, worked real hard, it just didn’t work out," DiPoto explained.
The D'Backs have recalled lefty reliever Jordan Norberto from the AAA Reno Aces to take Willis' spot on the roster.

Why doesn't he become a DH? The guy can flat out hit.
I really like Dontrelle Willis, hopefully he figures out what his mechanics issues are.
