Can't We All Just Get Along?

It looks like dugout spats are all the rage these days. The Tampa Bay Rays are the latest team to join the quarrel bandwagon. After losing Friday to the Diamondbacks and Edwin Jackson's no-hitter and dropping 7 of their last 10 games, they've dropped to third in the AL East.

Let's not forget they've also had a perfect game thrown against them as well, so getting squashed by a few no hit games, plus losing like crazy had to start getting to them sometime.

Evan Longoria and B.J. Upton exchanged a few choice words during their 2-1 loss to the D'Backs on Sunday after Upton seemed to not be trying very hard to chase after a ball cracked by first baseman Rusty Ryal that turned into his first career triple. Longoria apparently called Upton out in the dugout after that and Willy Aybar had to hold Upton back before he had a chance to beat the everliving shit out of Longoria. Yikes.

(Hopefully MLB doesn't yoink down this video before you have a chance to watch it.)

The frustration of losing 13 of their 23 games played so far in June is probably starting to put the entire team on edge, so it's understandable that they'd start getting a bit cranky with one another. Supposedly, they're both over it - Longoria was surprised that Upton reacted the way he did, and Upton thinks that left fielder Matt Joyce had a better shot at getting the ball. Guess they're entitled to their own opinions.

Skipper Joe Maddon sounds like he's on Evan's side, saying that he also thinks that Upton was a little lazy getting after it as well. It's doubtful that there will be any major repercussions for Upton after this - even though his hustle and motivation have been questioned in the past.

The All-Star break can't come soon enough for some of these guys. It'll be like a nap for toddlers. Maybe after it's over, everyone can share a juice-box and some cookies and be friends again.

agreed. The all-star break is going to be good for just about everyone - fans included.

That's probably the first time I've ever been attracted to Evan Longoria...and most likely the last.
