Season Previews: New York Mets

Now that it's pretty much Spring, it's time for one of our favorite things in all the world: Season Previews. Two years ago, they began as a serious analysis and ended up as half-assed haiku. We're just gonna go with what we know. Moving right along with our preview of the National League East, here they are: the New York Mets.

Two years of choking
The Mets just don't finish well
Their fans are pissed off

Luis Castillo
That old dude can barely walk
Signed for three more years

The Mets have some stars
Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Delgado
Others not so much

Bullpen is better
K-Rod and Putz joined the team
But what will they save?

Owner got Madoffed
Lost maybe $300 mill
No money for Manny

Citi Field opening
$45 billion from Feds
Great country or what?

How will they finish?
They could win 90 or more
But wheels could fall off

Baseball's best pitcher
Coming off knee surgery
What's his name again?

How hard is it to find a good 2nd baseman. I love my team but sometimes they make me scream.
Santana thats who.

How about some space regarding R.A. Dickey's attempt to get on to the Twins roster?

Not the slab of male meat that merits lots of photo space (being a guy, I think that's so), but the story of a knuckleballer getting the same treatment from the sports writers as Jim Bouton received in *Ball Four* seems worthy of note.
