There's this little thing I like to call life that has hindered my ability to blog about baseball lately. Like, for the past couple of weeks for instance.
Anyway, I've run into a small amount of free time between work and school and being a fricking rockstar. Therefore, I have time to write about baseball again -- just in time for the playoffs -- something I've missed more than anything in the world.
Since I can't think of where to begin, I'll start with how ball-sucking the Washington Nationals have been this season. Holy crap.
Nearing a 100-loss season at 58-98 heading into Tuesday's game against the Florida Marlins, the Nats are officially the worst the franchise has seen since 1976. The 57-98 Seattle Mariners and the 57-95 San Diego Padres also have a shot at joining the 100-loss club this season, which is pretty difficult to do, considering only four teams did so between 1995-2006, and not one accomplished the feat last year.
However, Washington can avoid the embarrassment of 100 losses simply by going 5-1 the rest of the way. It's that easy!
