His speedy return may not have had anything to do with hurt feelings, but three solid minor league appearances didn't slow things down. The 24-year-old right fielder batted .548 (7-for-13) with two RBIs -- including a 4-for-5 day on Sunday -- for the Class Double-A Mississippi Braves.
Since a player may be recalled from the minors in less than 10 days only to replace an injury, the timing of three players' trips to the DL (relief pitchers Jeff Bennett and Manny Acosta and utilityman Omar Infante) was impeccable and fortunate for Francoeur, who was hitting just .234 when he was optioned to the minors on Friday. Welcome back, buddy!

He is way too hot for the minors.
I love Frenchy as a player. I think he has potential and talent. But I also think sending him to the minors was a good move to save his career before he became the next Andruw Jones.
With yesterday's callup that was supposed to last until the Break, I'm almost completely bewildered by our management.
Oh well. Maybe a little attitude and mental adjustment and he can get back on track. I'm hoping for a dinger on his return tonight.
