C.C. Sabathia has reportedly (but not officially) been traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for a package deal highlighted by Class Double-A Huntsville Stars center fielder Matt LaPorta and two other prospects.
The Cleveland Indians lefty ace is 6-8 midway through the season with a 3.83 ERA and 123 strikeouts.
Obviously, there are two sides to this trade: C.C. is coming and C.C. is going. I'm sure this fires up Brewers fans, who've had to deal with a shaky rotation led by Ben Sheets and ....Jeff Suppan? Then there are the Cleveland fans, who have a couple unknown prospects and a top farm kid to possibly make an impact on their team's future.
Yay rebuilding!

Amen to that Megs. It'll be good to see him once ever year or four when playing the Brew Crew.
Sheets, Sabathia and Parramakes a three-game deficit seem much, much smaller.

I'M EXCITED!!! I'M EXCITED!!! I'M EXCITED!!!

I second Megs' assertion. First Johan Santana, now Sabathia - if Detroit would just ship out Justin Verlander, I'd be the most spitefully gleeful Sox fan in the whole wide world.
GOOD RIDDANCE!
