The St. Louis Cardinals righty, who spent the last two seasons bouncing from team to team, earned his sixth straight victory Friday night with a 5-4 win over the Boston Red Sox, a team he has never beaten in his career.
After signing on as a free agent with the Cards back in March, Lohse has (somehow) reinvented himself as one of the winningest NL pitchers this season, compiling an impressive 9-2 record and 3.32 ERA. And after allowing three runs or fewer over his last six starts, he surrendered just one earned run on six hits in six innings last night.
Color me impressed.

The Twins have a way of dumping players just before they get awesome. Big Papi, anyone?
Matt fricking Garza?
Jason Bartlett! Oh wait.

I have every confidence that Lohse will revert to form before too long.
I said the same thing about David Ortiz, too, but Papi has the key "not a douche" thing going for him. Lohse, on the other hand: still a douche. Karma will take care of the rest.
I'm still pissed we let JD Durbin go. I know he's got it in him too.
