The Other Manny Gets Paid

After just half a season as their closer, Manny Corpas has convinced the Colorado Rockies to give him an $8,025,000, four-year deal that could add up to $22 million with the inclusion of performance bonuses and team options for 2012 and '13.

This marks the longest contract ever given to a Rockies reliever. Way to go, buddy!

The 25-year-old righty played a big part in the club’s first trip to the World Series last season, saving 19 of 20 games and going 4-2 with a 2.08 ERA, the lowest by a reliever in the club's 15-year history. In the postseason, Corpas went 1-0 with 5 saves, holding batters to a .167 average.

"...and here's your locker. Hey, did you know that this used to be Mike Hampton's locker? True story. Good luck, kid!"

I think it's just a staff member. Still, hilarious.
