Bud Selig -- an avid opponent of instant replay -- is willing to let big league general managers consider the possibility when they meet in early November, and report back to the Commissioner's Office with their recommendations.Colorado Rockies manager Clint Hurdle, who feels his team has been robbed on at least four separate occasions, is all for it. He claims that replays would cut down on arguments and speed up the games.
However, Selig isn't fond of the idea, as he believes it causes more delays than it avoids. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
"There are controversial decisions, and I understand it. But this has been going on 130 years, too," Selig said.Which brings us to this poll. Is instant replay a good idea for major league baseball?

IF and that's a BIG IF, it should only be used on questionable home run calls. That's it. Otherwise, you're taking away from the integrity of the game and I think maybe even with having it on home runs, you might be as well.
I agree.. it would absolutely abolish any credibility the umps are trying to hang onto.
Why do I find it insanely ironic that Clint Hurdle is in favor of instant replay?

It sucks that happens every now and then anonymous, but that's why the field is covered with umpires. They're all supposed to be watching.
Having replay also means that every game for every team needs to have tv cameras there to record the game. For teams like the Yankees and Mets, its not a big deal but for my A's I don't see who is going to spend the money to staff the cameras and replay equipment.
