Barry Bonds: the People Have Spoken

Marc Ecko, swanky fashion designer, bid $752,467 earlier this month for Barry Bonds *756th home run ball at an auction.

Ecko then held an online poll for the people to decide: "Bestow It" (send it to Cooperstown exactly the way it is) or "Banish It" (permanently brand the ball with an asterisk before sending it to Cooperstown).

The third option was "Launch it into space forever."

Wednesday morning, he publicly announced on the Today Show that more than 10 million votes were counted and "Brand It" was the winner, drawing 47% of the online votes.

What does the Hall of Fame think? Dale Petroskey, the Halls' President, said they are "more than happy" to receive the ball, no matter what it looks like. He cited the generosity of players and fans for the 35,000 baseball artifacts in Cooperstown, all of which were donated.

Barry Bonds, on the other hand, didn't find the opinion poll as amusing. "He's stupid. He's an idiot," Bonds said. "He spent $750,000 on the ball and that's what he's doing with it? What he's doing is stupid."
Tell us how you really feel, Barry.

i think that the ball should be in the hall of fame with the infamous "cream" smeared on one side and a hypodermic needle jabbed into it.
