Thursday's Babelicious Scoreboard
Not only have the Milwaukee Brewers given way to the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central, but they've apparently started bickering amongst themselves.
Backstop Johnny Estrada and manager Ned Yost were reportedly close to dancing in the dugout tunnel during the seventh inning stretch of Thursday's loss to the New York Mets, the Brewers' 10th loss in their last 14 games.
Mets starter Brian Lawrence (1-0, ERA) went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs on 8 hits with 3 strikeouts and a walk. Corey Hart homered twice for a 3-for-5, 3 RBI night and Tony Graffanino drove in the other Milwaukee run.
Lefty Chris Capuano (5-8, 4.86 ERA) gave up 10 hits for 5 runs, striking out eight and walking one. Jose Reyes, Damion Easley and Marlon Anderson each drove in two runs a piece, as Jose also nabbed his 51st bag of the season.
Fifty-one stolen bases. Wow.
Fun fact: the Brew Crew led the NLC by 8.5 games on June 23rd, but dropped out of first for the first time since April 21st after Wednesday's loss.
*This weekend's four-game series between the Indians and Twins will be played as scheduled at the Dome, despite the fatal freeway bridge collapse only a few blocks away. Thursday's postponed game against the Royals will be made up on Aug. 31st as part of a doubleheader.

That's an awesome bird's eye view of Reyes.
I'm glad to see the Twins/Indians series still go on.
Sometimes people need sports to get through tragedy, ya know?
