(Former) Oakland Athletics spitfire catcher Jason Kendall was dished to the Chicago Cubs Monday.
Kendall's numbers aren't quite something to be desired - a .226 batting average, .261 on-base percentage and a 20% put-out ratio for base thieves - but the good people of the Windy City seem optimistic about the acquisition.
Optimism comes easily when hope is all you have.

Haha! Michael who.
How many brawls has he been in? I canb think of 2 for sure. Something is telling me there's more.
Well Barrett had to go, no doubt about it. And then we were stuck with 2 rookie catchers and a catcher that just got here in Bowen. Not the best situation for a club with pennant aspirations.
So they go get Kendall who had his salad days in the NL and is a decent receiver. I like the move, all things considered. Whether it makes a difference or not we'll see. It is, the Cubs after all...
Last night, Barrett had three singles and 3 RBIs out of the No. 7 spot for the Padres. Plus he threw out a second base steal attempt with Jose "King" Reyes at the plate for the final Mets out in the seventh inning.
From a Padres perspective, Barrett has been paying nothing but dividends.
Mark Kotsay is a beautiful man.
That is all.
Sooze you are no longer a credible source on anything.
