The Seattle Mariners strengthened their bullpen on Sunday, acquiring righty Jason Davis from the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later.
Davis has appeared in eight games this season and has a 4.76 ERA with no decisions for the Indians, who he's spent his entire career with. He was 3-2 with a 3.74 ERA in 39 games last year.
Davis has made 52 starts in his 114 major league appearances, but Seattle manager Mike Hargrove plans to use him exclusively as a reliever for now. He is expected to join the Mariners during their series against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.
