The 39-year-old was hurt while running the bases (I could stop there... cause it's pretty funny... getting hurt running the bases) against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday.
The Royals are expected to fill Sanders' spot by recalling outfielder Shane Costa from AAA Omaha. On Thursday, he extended his minor-league hitting streak to 19 games.
