White Sox Get Busy

Closer Matt Thornton agreed Sunday on a $3.25 million, three-year contract with the Chicago White Sox. The 30-year-old lefty went 5-3 with a 3.33 ERA and 49 strikeouts over 63 appearances in his first season with the Sox last year.

Utility player Pablo Ozuna was given a $1.25 million, one-year extension through as well, after he hit .328 with two homers and 17 RBIs in 79 games last year.

The club also picked up the contracts of lefty John Danks and catcher Gustavo Molina from AAA Charlotte and placed backup catcher Toby Hall on the 15-day disabled list - retroactive to March 26th - with a dislocated right shoulder.

Danks, acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers, earned the fifth spot in the starting rotation. Hall, who is out for Lord know how long, was set to place backup to A.J. Pierzynski after signing with the club in December.
