Amidst the trouble of finding depth up the middle, the Minnesota Twins' Alexi Casilla went 1-for-3 and started a slick double play at short during the Twins' 7-4 loss Tuesday to the Los Angeles Dodgers - one year after the death of Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett.

Trevor Plouffe, the team's top pick in the 2004 amateur draft, was called up to camp for a day to get some time at short and doubled in his only at-bat. Glenn Williams, another Minnesota infielder looking for a shot, homered off Dario Veras. The newly acquired Twin Ramon Ortiz tossed three perfect innings.

Dodgers starter Jason Schmidt struck out three while walking one and giving up one run and two hits in two innings while Andre Ethier had two hits and two RBIs. Chin-Lung Hu had three hits, raising his batting average to .444 this spring.
