Happy Birthday Tony-O!

Happy 70th Birthday, Tony Oliva.

You're a living legend, one who I was taught to appreciate at a very young age as you and Rod Carew were all knotted up as my dad's all-time favorite players.

In fact, the day I met you during the Twins caravan as your waitress and you ordered a Diet Coke and I almost puked everywhere from pure excitement was probably the sweetest moment of my baseball fandom.

Joe Mauer was sitting right next to you (back before he got his man muscles and his knee still hurt, and he was still kind of awkward and dorky) and I barely even noticed as I asked for his ID when he ordered a Rolling Rock. Cause you're Tony-O and you kick ass.
