Pat Burrell is Undecided on Whether or Not to End His Career

Oh, Pat Burrell.

It sounds like the outfielder's career might be coming to an end.

Burrell had mentioned late in the season that he would toss the idea of retirement around if he wasn't able to return to full strength, with that right foot of his giving him all kinds of trouble. Although he has yet to make an official decision, he did have this to say on Thursday:

“I have not decided yet, but I don’t think I can play anymore... It hurts me to say that.”

The 35-year-old Pat the Bat, who clearly needs either a drink or a hug, participated in only 92 games last season after joining the San Francisco Giants in 2010 when the Tampa Bay Rays cut him from the team. Oh well, he ended up winning another World Series with the misfits and losers or whatever they were referred to, just two seasons after getting a ring with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Burrell batted .266 with 18 homers and 51 RBI for the Giants as their everyday left fielder, bringing his career numbers to a .253 average with 292 longballs, 976 RBI, and a whopping seven stolen bases over 12 big league seasons. So close to 300/1000.
