Jason Giambi's reunion with the Oakland Athletics didn't go as well as planned.
The team released the struggling, oft-injured slugger on Friday after his average reached epic-suck proportions (.193) just before he landed on the disabled list on July 20th with a strained right quadriceps muscle.
The 38-year-old designated hitter and first baseman has 11 home runs and 40 RBIs over 83 games on the season. Since Giambi was making $4 million this season, the next suckers to pick him up would owe him the prorated portion of the $400,000 league minimum, while the A's take care of his buyout.
So long, Jason Giambi.

I can't decide whether he looks dumber with or without the mustache.
Megs.. It's like the chicken and the egg. There's no way to really answer that.
