Alex Rios went o-for-5 Thursday with not four, but five strikeouts in the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. In the unforgiving world of baseball, we call that a platinum sombrero. This is his second career five-strikeout game, which is pretty tough to accomplish.
Jays second baseman Aaron Hill also went 0-for-5 in the loss, but did not whiff every single time. In fact, he managed an RBI grounder in the seventh. Still, he remains hitless over hit last 20 at bats.
Way to go, guys!
P.S. Apparently Rios is kind of an a-hole.
Update: According to FanHouse, Rios has apologized for his profanity-laced YouTube tirade. What a guy.

That video was awesome, What a tool.
Excuse my language, but what a douche. He can't sign a quick autograph for a kid? He's right up there with Papelbon in the a-hole scale.
No doubt! He's lucky that kid even wanted an autograph after the shitshow yesterday.

I don't hold it against him. It's hard to find an athlete who isn't a total dick.
It shows that he cares. He was deeply, deeply upset with his performance.
And he's got a nice car.
"And he's got a nice car."
So true.
Also, I have found the one athlete who isn't a total dick. The one athlete whom we all should strive to be more like: Roy Halladay.
And, also, no matter what Rios does in life, he will never, EVER, be "right up there with Papelbon in the a-hole scale."
Papelbon's in another stratosphere.
OK I'm done. I think.
Maybe he should have signed for those kids, but the dude he's yelling at deserves it all. The guy needs to find something better to do than wait after a game to heckle a player.
It was just a bad day at the office for Alex, and I guess he took his bad attitude out with him that night. After a few glasses of Crystale, I'm sure he forgot all about it.
Stay clASSy, Rios.
