Big thanks to Jim Thome’s old school bat and Ken Griffey Jr.’s older school cannon for making the Chicago White Sox the 2008 AL Central winner.
Lefty John Danks tossed eight impressive innings of two-hit ball on minimal rest, seeing Junior nail Michael Cuddyer at home and Thome smoke one in the seventh to help the South Siders beat the division rival Minnesota Twins 1-0 in their nail-biting, tie-breaking 163rd game of the season.
After the Sox drink up all their cheap champagne at U.S. Cellular, they'll head to St. Petersburg Thursday to take on the AL East-winning Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the playoffs.
A little note from Elias: Chicago is the first team in big league history to win their last three games against three different opponents. The more you know!

Jeeeeeez, your picture totally beats mine. I give up, you win.
We definitely need to get drunk together. I am going to need a lot of liquor to get through a White Sox playoff run.
That makes me sound like an awesome person.
Remember yesterday, when life had MEANING?
I've got plenty of liquor. I knew there was a reason I started restocking my bar a couple of weeks ago.

Sooze and Lauren:
I'll grab some tequila and kleenex and meet you in the gutter.
Cubs/Sox world series bad, very very bad.
Tequlia might help.
Hey, I found half a sandwich down here in the gutter.
Hey...tequila & kleenex seem like a good idea. Can I join you?
I tried to warn you, but you wouldn't listen..
