Brandon Webb continues to dominate the National League, picking up his major league-leading 17th victory Sunday after tossing six solid innings to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 6-1 win over the Atlanta Braves.
As if that wasn't enough, he nailed a two-run double in the fourth to help bust the game wide open. With two out and Arizona leading 4-0, Braves starter Mike Hampton intentionally walked Chris Burke to get to Webb. Little did he know, Webb would line a double over the glove of Jeff Francouer in center to score two and put the D'backs up 6-0.
Webb of course down-played his performance, "Every now and then you get lucky and get a base hit," he said.Webb surrendered just one run on six hits, walking two and striking out five. And he did it all with that boyish charm.
